Elizabeth Saltonstall Angel's Trumpet Framed Lithograph 20x16 Vintage 1983
The piece is titled "Angel's Trumpet" and was created by Saltonstall in the mid-1940s. The subject of the lithograph is a decorative herbaceous shrub originally from India. Dautra meteloides is sometimes referred to as Angel's or Devil's Trumpet. It is both beautiful and quite toxic. The original was completed in 1946.
The lithograph measures 14 x 9 3/4 inches, sheet size is 16 x 12 inches.
Brushed nickel silver framed size: 19 1/2" H x 16" W. a two tone deep cut mat was used and framing is certainly professionally completed.
Elizabeth Saltonstall (born Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts, July 26, 1900; died there May 10, 1990)[1] was an American artist who used stone lithography and painting to depict the natural world, particularly that of her summer home of Nantucket.
